JERUSALEM (JTA) — Two rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip toward Israel.
One of the rockets fired late Saturday night landed on the Israeli side of the Gaza border fence. The other struck near the border in northern Gaza.
No casualties were reported in the attack, which did not trigger any warning alarms.
The attack comes a day after Hamas, which rules in Gaza, called for revenge on all Israelis for the death of a Palestinian baby in a firebombing on his home. Extremist Jews are believed to have carried out the attack.
The last rocket attack from Gaza occurred on July 16, when a rocket fired from Gaza landed near Ashkelon. In retaliation, Israel Air Force jets fired on what the Israel Defense Forces called in a statement a “terror infrastructure” in central Gaza.
