JFED’s YOUNG ADULT DIVISION (YAD)

Welcome to your Central Mass Jewish community. Come on in.

Are you between the ages of 22-45? Interested in getting more involved in your Central Mass Jewish community?  Or, new to the Central Mass area? Want to meet like-minded new people? You’ve come to the right place!

Based around the Jewish values of kehilla (community), tzedakah (giving with just intention), and tikkun olam (repairing the world), we are an inclusive community for young adults to grow and connect through shared goals, interests and experiences. Our members consist of singles and couples who participate in a wide variety of social, educational, leadership and volunteer activities that allow for meaningful involvement and connection while benefiting both the local and global Jewish community. We invite Jews of all backgrounds who have the desire to meet new people and be a part of this wonderful growing community.

YAD LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:

We are always looking for young adults who want to share their talents, serve as ambassadors for YAD and give back to the Jewish Central Mass Community.

Our YAD Leadership Council is structured into core teams serving the following principles:

  • Outreach
  • Social Engagement
  • Social Action
  • Philanthropy
  • Education

We are currently looking for volunteers to get involved. Our council meets every 4-8 weeks, depending on the project or initiative.

What’s in it for you?  Getting involved with the Jewish Central Mass Young Adult Division Council means:

  • Make professional & personal connections
  • Grow your network
  • Develop your leadership skills
  • Get access to mentoring opportunities with key community leaders
  • Build your resume
  • Gain leadership experience to prepare you for serving on a board
  • Feel fulfilled that you've made a difference in your community    .

Outreach
Outreach addresses acting as ambassadors of the Young Adult Division, creating programs to welcome and reach out to newcomers to the Central Mass community. Help to promote the activities of YAD, and also extend personal invitations and welcome guests at YAD events.

Social Engagement
Social Engagement connects young adults through planning fun and creative social programs for singles, couples and families. Happy hours, social outings, Monthly Shabbat Dinners, holiday and other signature YAD events

Social Action
In the spirit of "tikkunolam" (repairing the world), Social Action gives YAD an opportunity to give back to the Jewish and Central Mass community through developing meaningful volunteer opportunities, community service and social action initiatives.

Philanthropy
Philanthropy helps to educate young adults about the mission of the Jewish Federation of Central Massachusetts and its Annual Campaign and how it impacts our community here, in Israel, and throughout the world.

Education
The principle of Education further covers bringing informative, relative, and timely events to the YAD community by inviting speakers or planning other gatherings to promote discussion. Like Philanthropy, this also aims to further educate young adults about the mission of the Jewish Federation of Central Massachusetts.

We look forward to your participation in YAD!  Please contact me if you would like to chat and  learn more.
